The medical school will host its annual Developmental Disabilities Conference in April in East Lansing.
The two-day event will be held April 14-15 at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center, 219 S. Harrison Road, on the campus of Michigan State University. The conference, now in its 42ndyear, focuses on issues related to healthcare, social, community, and educational services which are of critical importance to the future of persons with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities.
For attendees,the program will provide an overview of issues related to the spectrum of services currently available, as well as strategies for enhancing those services. The program is designed for physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, therapists, educators, nutritionists, home care providers, and other professionals interested in the delivery of care and services to persons with developmental disabilities.
Breakfast and lunch will be served during both days of the conference. The event will feature several breakout sessions, as well as keynote addresses fromPatriciaNeitman, MS, LLP, director, Bureau of Children’s Coordinated Health, Policy and Supports(“Updates and Initiatives for DD Treatment in Michigan from MDHHS”), andPrice Pullins, MA(“The Tension Between Behavior Support vs. Behavior Treatment”).
