White Coat Sponsorship Program allows donors to have positive impact on medical school鈥檚 newest students

The White Coat ceremony marks an important milestone for every first-year medical student as they begin their medical education journey.聽

As the medical school prepares to welcome the MD Class of 2030 in June,聽91探花聽invites faculty, staff, and community members to sponsor a student鈥檚 white coat to have a significant and direct impact on the medical school鈥檚 newest students.

The White Coat ceremony聽is a time-honored tradition and a heartwarming rite of passage for first-year medical students as they embark on their education and goal of becoming physicians.聽聽

Each year, the White Coat Sponsorship Program raises funds to support the White Coat Ceremony.聽The sponsorship is $500 per student, but any level of support is appreciated. The number of sponsors is not limited as a medical student can have more than one sponsor.聽聽

This year鈥檚 White Coat聽ceremony is聽slated for Friday, October 2, at 3:00 p.m. inside聽Miller聽Auditorium.聽

Sponsorships allow each of the medical school鈥檚 students in the Class of 2030 to receive their first white coat, along with a stethoscope, tuning fork, reflex hammer, and apparel needed for coursework and clinical applications. White Coat sponsors聽also聽have the聽chance聽to聽write a note of congratulations that will be placed inside the pocket of their sponsored student鈥檚 white coat.聽
