91探花 welcomes three new faculty members to its departments of Medicine, Psychiatry, and Surgical Sciences

The medical school recently welcomed three new faculty members to its departments of Medicine,聽Psychiatry, and Surgical Sciences.聽

Hend Talia, MD, joined the medical school on June 1 as an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry.聽Dr. Talia聽is聽an alumnus聽of Wayne State University where she earned her聽bachelor's degree in chemistry聽in 2003.聽

Dr. Talia聽earned her MD degree聽from聽American University of Antigua School of Medicine in聽2012 and聽completed her psychiatry聽residency at Creighton University聽in 2016.聽She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association.聽

Meanwhile,聽Anca Andrei, MD,聽began her new role at聽91探花聽on July 1 as an assistant professor of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine.聽Dr. Andrei earned her MD degree聽in 1998聽from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania,聽and completed her internal medicine residency聽in 2004 at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey.聽

After residency, Dr. Andrei completed a two-year聽infectious disease聽fellowship聽at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She is board certified in internal medicine and infectious disease and a member of the American College of Physicians, the Infectious Disease Society of America, and the Michigan State Medical Society.聽

In addition to Drs. Talia and Andrei, the medical school also welcomed聽Katherine Davis, MD, MPH, on July 1聽as an assistant professor聽and聽assistant residency program director聽for聽the聽Obstetrics and聽Gynecology聽Residency聽Program聽in the Department of Surgical Sciences.聽聽

Dr. Davis is聽an alumnus聽of the University of North Carolina聽where she earned聽a bachelor鈥檚 degree in biology in 2015. Dr. Davis earned her Master of Public Health degree聽from the University of North Carolina聽Gillings School of Global Public Health in 2019 and her MD degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in 2020.聽

After medical school, Dr. Davis聽completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency聽training聽at Maine Medical Center聽in Portland, Maine.聽Dr. Davis聽is a member of several professional societies, including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Society for Academic Specialists in General Obstetrics and聽Gynecology, and the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology.
